AN ACT

To amend chapter 571, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to personal firearms.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:

            Section A. Chapter 571, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 571.505, to read as follows:

            571.505. Any personal firearm, firearm accessory, or ammunition that is owned or manufactured commercially or privately within this state and remains exclusively within the boundaries of this state shall:

            (1) Have an indention or mark specifying that it was made or manufactured in this state;

            (2) Be considered intrastate commerce and only be subject to regulation by this state and its political subdivisions; and

            (3) Be subject to a background check of the serial number of the firearm to ensure that it has not been used in the commission of a crime or reported stolen.
