SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

430 ILCS 68/5-6 new

Amends the Firearm Dealer License Certification Act. Provides that the

provisions of the Act concerning the
certification of the license of a

federal firearms licensee only apply to a federal firearms licensee who has been found by the federal or State government to have 3 or more firearms used in the commission of criminal offenses sold or transferred by the licensee within the 5 years prior to his or her application for certification of his or her license.

1 AN ACT concerning safety.

2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 represented in the General Assembly:

4 Section 5. The Firearm Dealer License Certification Act is

5 amended by adding Section 5-6 as follows:

6 (430 ILCS 68/5-6 new)

7 Sec. 5-6. Certification of license of federal firearms

8 dealer; applicability. The provisions of this Act concerning

9 the certification of the license of a federal firearms licensee

10 only apply to a federal firearms licensee who has been found by

11 the federal or State government to have 3 or more firearms used

12 in the commission of criminal offenses sold or transferred by

13 the licensee within the 5 years prior to his or her application

14 for certification of his or her license.
