Legislation Overview
Title: CRIM CD-NO ONLINE AMMO
Description: Amends the Criminal Code of 2012. Creates the offense of unlawful transfer or purchase of firearm ammunition online via the Internet. Provides that a person commits the offense when he or she knowingly transfers or purchases firearm ammunition online via the Internet. Provides that this prohibition does not apply to the transfer of firearm ammunition to, or purchase of firearm ammunition online via the Internet by, peace officers or members of the Armed Services or Reserve Forces of the United States or the Illinois National Guard or the Reserve Officers Training Corps, when that firearm ammunition is for use in firearms used by those persons in the performance of their official duties. Provides that a violation is a Class 4 felony.
