This thread will be updated on a regular basis when new bills come in for New York.
Note: We will only post legislation we feel is negative or positive, those new bills which don't actually effect your rights will not be included but you can always find them on the state legislation page.

S00879 is an interesting bill. It appears an upstate legislator is attempting to change all firearm suspension laws to only apply to the counties of Suffolk, Nassau, Kings, Queens, Richmond, New York, Bronx and Westchester, basically telling the city they don't want their stupid laws
S00807 would create a 'sportmans weekend' starting the last Friday in August when certain firearms and sporting goods would be tax free
S00803 would create the offense of illegal gun trafficking for anyone selling stolen or altered firearm and would make it a class D felony
S00739 would allow anyone issued a license for gunsmithing or a dealer in firearms to use that license to carry a firearm anywhere they wish
S00470 would require all new firearms sold to be capable of microstamping
S00451 would require all firearm license to be processed in no more than 180 days
S00437 would require all employees and owners of a firearm dealers to under go background checks (ATF already requires this)
S00432 would require all gun dealers to do massive amounts of work, including locking all firearms in a safe during non-business hours in an attempt to stop illegal gun trafficking
S00354 would only allow purchasing of firearms from businesses that can prove they are 'responsible dealers'
S00353 would require all departments, boards, bureaus, commissions or agencies of the state of New York and local governments to sell their firearms to another law enforcement agency or they are to be sold to an agency that will destroy them
S00320 would require all police officers to report every discharge of their weapon(s) immediately to their superiors no matter when or how the discharge occurred
S00310 would create the crime of 'firing into a crowded space' ... only problem is it only applies to people 18 years old or older
S00202 would make it a crime to sell ammunition to a minor and would require businesses to check ids for the age of the person buying the ammo
S00197 would repeal Section 1. Chapter 1 of the S.A.F.E. act
S00192 would make 25% of the purchase price of firearm safety devices deduct able from income taxes
S00191 would provide a 50% tax credit for the purchase of a gun safe, up to $500
S00135 would allow anyone that has a pistol or revolver license to carry it while attending a pre-license firearms safety course and while under the supervision of the instructor
S00067 would allow police officers to seize firearms and ammunition from any home that they are called to for any domestic call
S00063 would impose additional fees on all firearm sales to establish a gun violence research fund
S00034 would make the possession or sale of armor piercing ammunition a class B felony
S00021 would specify exactly what colors can be used to make 'imitation weapons'
A00349 would require anyone wishing to renew a firearm license to show proof of personal liability insurance
A00224 would make all firearm license information private and immune from freedom of information requests
A00145 would require anyone that is taken to the hospital by police for mental examination to surrender their firearms and would require a 'cooling off' period once they are released before the firearms can be returned

S01193 would restrict the sale of ammunition to only those type a person is allowed to own - makes no sense

A00457 would make it a crime to store any firearm that is not in a person's immediate possession unless it is locked in a safe or has a trigger lock installed

A00897 would require a hearing prior to revoking a firearm license whenever the director of community services makes a report pursuant to section 9.46 of the mental hygiene law
A00914 is a 'ghost gun' bill
A00980 would require the surrender of firearms for certain misdemeanors
A00986 would exempt active and retired police officers, peace officers and correction officers from disclosure of pistol permits under the freedom of information act
S01320 would limit the sale of ammunition for 'assault weapons' to two times the firearm's capacity every 120 days
S01414 would extend the waiting period for a NICS background check to 10 days before the firearm can be transferred
S01508 would outlaw firearms that 'look like everyday objects'
S01669 would require anyone holding a gun buyback program to check all firearm serial numbers and attempt to find and return any firearm found to be stolen to its rightful owner before destroying it

A02089 would allow mental health professionals to disclose if they feel a patient may pose a risk and would allow law enforcement to revoke firearm licenses from that person
S02921 would require national guard recruiters to be provided a side arm while working
S03014 would require law enforcement to issue carry licenses to any active duty military who has a license from their home state within 60 or receiving an application. It would also allow active military to carry on their home state license for a maximum of 90 days
S03041 would enact a 10 day waiting period for all firearm sales to the public
S03043 would make it a crime to purchase more than 1 firearm every 30 days
S03049 would prohibit concealed carry in any national park or national wildlife refuge system

A03097 would increase penalties for those convicted of a drug crime while in possession of a firearm
S03716 would remove the ban on firearms on property held in trust for the benefit of the New York State College of Forestry at Syracuse University,
SO3694 would add siblings, and parents to the definition of immediate family in regards to transferring firearms without a background check

S04728 would require anyone wanting to look at a firearm in a gun shop to produce identification and for the dealer to hold that identification while the person is in possession of the firearm
A06187 would make it a crime to sell or transfer a firearm to another person without 'transferring the title' of the firearm. Since when do firearms have titles? The bill would also make it a crime to not report a lost or stolen firearm.
A06345 would prohibit firearms at government meetings
A06346 would ban the sale of any firearm that does not incorporate a childproofing device
A06347 would require the state police be notified of all shipments of firearms of firearms and would allow the delivery to be postponed until a police investigation is completed

A06433 would allow anyone with a valid out of state carry permit to carry in New York state for up to a month

A06828 would restrict how far a gunsmith or firearm dealer can be from child care facilities and schools
